After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital to make a fresh start. Dr. Harrison (stage veteran and actor Michael Potts) notices that James is struggling and has difficulty bonding with patients and suggests that he take a course on bedside manners and building deeper relationships with patients. Demons from James' past catch up with him when he is preoccupied with the case of a young asthma patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER, RARELY, SOMETIMES, ALWAYS) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to fade as his disturbing nightmares, fear-driven speculations and physical injuries collide with the harsh reality of the medical world. For his sequel to SAINT FRANCES – and the predecessor to GHOSTLIGHT – director Alex Thompson has assembled a strong ensemble of experienced actors in this humanistic and unconventional vision of the genre.
